For this blog post Professor Sabatino has given us free range of our blog as long as it relates to our research project in some way. I have chosen to post an image of a letter I free wrote addressed to dr. Martin Seligman, about The Three Good Things Exercise. Writing this took about 5 minutes in class on Tuesday. Martin Seligman is often referred to as the “father of positive psychology“ and a strong advocate for the three good things exercise.

Seth I know how you feel with not feeling any different after the process. I felt it more tedious than anything else. I do wonder if there is a way for those of us who have experienced this to get the same outcome as others.

Hey! Do you think maybe you went into this exercise with a pre-existing negative mindset towards it since it was a homework assignment? Just curious! Because I did originally too, but then I found it kind of calming to collect my thoughts and instead of reflect on the bad things in my day, recognize the good ones. Everybody's different though so I do understand your point of view!
